Vikings okay moving seats for baseball at new stadium

If you’ve been dying with anticipation waiting to hear whether the new Minnesota Vikings stadium will be able to accommodate high-school and college baseball, then die no longer: The Vikings and the stadium authority have reached a compromise that will allow for a right-field foul pole 300 feet away, at least.

You may recall that my initial suggestion last month was that “You’d think it’d be possible to install a few rows of removable seats along that sideline, which can be wheeled out and then replaced when switching from football to baseball and back again.” And how did the Vikings resolve the impasse?

Under the agreement, the new stadium will feature a 26-foot-high right field wall, retractable seats on the north sideline and removable dugouts.

You’re welcome. My invoice will be in the mail.
