More Jets mystery money
New York Gov. George Pataki dropped the other shoe in the Jets stadium funding debate, including $300 million in state funding for the project in his 2005 budget. I'm having a bit of a hard time tracking down whether this is a straight line item or a bond issue or what; Newsday calls it "$300 million in future borrowing," which would imply the latter, but I haven't been able to confirm this. In any case, the budget will now go to state assembly speaker Sheldon Silver and state senate leader Joe Bruno, who already control the stadium's fate through their role on the Public Authorities Control Board.
