The Forbes NFL team valuations are out, and ESPN’s Kevin Seifert notices that the Minnesota Vikings‘ new stadium deal is showing up in the numbers:
According to Forbes, the Vikings realized a 22 percent increase in value as a result of stadium approval and are now worth $975 million.
So, Minnesota taxpayers pony up about $1.1 billion in subsidies, and Zygi Wilf’s net worth goes up by $179 million. It kinda makes you wonder if Minnesota could have kept it to, say, $1 billion in subsidies, and left the Vikings with just a $79 million windfall in value. But we’ll never know now.

FOP,
You must get permission from Minnesota to post any news on the team. Outsiders and carpet baggers are forbidden to post articles on the Vikings.
Imagine if the taxpayers had been extra stingy and offered up a mere $700 million in subsidies. The poor Vikings owners would have faced a loss of… what, half their net worth?
Me, I kind of like the idea of offering a subsidy of a quarter-billion and watching the value of the Vikings descend to zero.
