The head of the Metropolitan chamber of commerce announced yesterday that he plans to announce by Jan. 1 the appointment of a task force to begin fact-gathering around making a decision on whether or not to build a new Milwaukee Bucks arena — wait, why the hell is this news, exactly? It must be really nice to be able to call up your local newspaper columnist and get them to write an entire article about your private group’s plans to research its next lobbying campaign.
At least the Milwaukee Business Journal tried to include some actual reporting in their coverage of this announcement, noting that the plan would likely be “controversial” because it would involve tax money, and that it would almost certainly require a voter referendum. See, was that so hard? And they even got it in the first two-and-a-half paragraphs before it hit their paywall!
