  1. I remember when both the Vikings and BC Lions were touting the benefits of the air supported TFE dome (and likely the Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts too)… it was great! No support structure needed, air does the work (actually, big electric fans do the work, and they cost a bundle to run over the long term)!

And you can walk on it it’s so strong!

Like everything, those roof systems didn’t last forever. In Minnesota’s case, it failed when maintenance workers sprayed hot water on the snow covered roof to try and melt the snow/ice that had built up. Anyone who has ever lived in a northern climate knows that doing that only makes the problem worse, and generally leads to roof failure – which this, of course, did.

I’m sure the taxpayers will be put on the hook to replace this new roofing material when it fails. If there’s any doubt, the team can always be proactive and install a webcam to monitor the roof’s status, then broadcast that footage to the entire nation. Which they also did with the HHH Metrodome.

  2. It would make me feel like I was part of the team. Hey, Teddy Bridgewater may get a concussion today, but we may die in the cheap seats. Go Vikes!!!!
